and use their troops regularly as cannon fodder. They are regularly trying to take areas that are heavily fortified by Ukrainians. It's been a war of attrition for certain strategic cities (Bakmut, etc.). In trying to take these cities, Russia has relied, as it always has, on sheer numbers.
