weekend between Elko and Drink.
Drink wouldn't believe that Weigman was the starter even though the depth chart showed him as the starter because in his mind he himself would not have changed QB's that got him 3 wins regardless of the level of play. Drink actually seemed a little cocky about it and acted like Elko saying Weigman was starting was just a smoke screen. Or as he said "just semantics".
Elko realized that to reach their goals they would need more than a good running QB and made the switch to someone that provides their team the best chance to win in the future.
I believe if Drink had faced the same situation as Elko, he would have stuck with Reed until he lost a few games.
I think Drink has shown with Bazelak in 2021 and now Cook that he is fine with a game manager vs trying to find a dynamic play making qb.
Probably stating the obvious here.
