when kids are at risk due to parental negligence, neglect, conduct.

What's the point of having a wealthy country if we can't help out children when we have the ability to do so.

I'd like to see a more robust Social Services system which takes away kids from wayward parents. These programs don't cost all that much compared to many other programs which benefit primarily older Americans.

Don't forget, investing in children's lives is investing in a better America down the road. Kids that are neglected end up repeating the cycles of their parents. As opposed to children that are supported with care, they can end up contributing to society.

Yet we spend so much money taking care of people that have had a chance to support themselves through adulthood (seniors) and either haven't or can't. I'm okay with some of that, but that age group doesn't provide a future benefit like children do.
