During early 2020 Mike Pence had either a press conference or short speech on WTF was going on with COVID.

I remember thinking, "compared to Trump this guy seems completely well thought out, articulate and reasonable. How come HE's not the one in charge"

Obviously this is independent of any particular policy differences between the two.

Same thing last night with Vance. And would have been the same with Gabbard and others over Biden, as well as DeSantis, Ramaswamy, and others.
