I have family & acquaintances that I spend occasional time with. The politics is more likely to bother them than me. It generally doesn't bother me. It bothers the hell out of my wife & some of those relatives, but I generally don't bring it up.
My kids think it's funny to stir up some **** and watch the sparks fly.
At Easter in 2021 or '22(?) we were at a niece's home. My wife warned ahead of time not to start any fights. I had no intention of doing so, of course. It was a beautiful sunny day and my nephew-in-law(?) had opened the garage door & set up some tables and chairs & some guys were watching a Cardinals baseball game in his man cave. Most of the women were in the kitchen & kids were everywhere. I stood barely inside the garage and watched the game for a few minutes before one of my sons walked over and mentioned to one of the big vaxx proponents that I wasn't vaccinated.
My kids all watched contentedly as one after another started grilling me about why I wouldn't get vaccinated. Didn't I care if I suffered and died? What about my wife and kids... and on and on. I calmly gave reasons and facts and then one of the wives walked out, heard a sentence or two, made her anger known, spun around and went back into the house.
Then my wife came out wanting to know why I was stirring up sh*t again. Damn, I knew I should have figured out how to lock the kids in the car.
