candidate, relative to what I consider to be a solid, roundly agreeable POTUS candidate (this is off the cuff, I'm sure I'll miss things or be redundant):
1. He's a narcissist - he can't credit others enough and takes too much credit personally for successes and routinely, casually makes things unnecessarily about him.
this is an horrendous attribute for a leader and it's off-putting to just about every human being instinctively, which weakens, nay, cripples his ability to partner with anyone who doesn't adore him and makes folks only negotiate with him out of necessity and despite their innate feelings to punch him.
2. He lacks impulse control - another terrible trait for a leader. He spontaneously contradicts himself for opportunities that are short-term wins creating long-term problems.
3. He's classless and disrespectful and downright nasty in a childish manner to his adversaries. I can be this way on an anonymous message board, but POTUS can't. He alienates, angers, and permanently offends people who could be useful not only to him, but especially to causes they may share.
4. He's fiscally irresponsible
5. He's morally repugnant; not in every possible way, but there's plenty of behaviors I don't respect and mainly disrespect. I wouldn't want him in my circle of friends, wouldn't want him to hang out and drink a beer with my friends and I.
You may ask how I could either vote for him or otherwise support him in this election, or how I might hope he wins over Kamala Harris.
Here's why:
1. I believe KH is the ignorant, giggling face of a party that represents nothing I support and everything I personally despise and which I feel will hurt the people of this country and the culture of this country irreparably.
2. I think Trump has strong convictions, loves the country and is well-intended, if often foolish and naive. I would rather have his faulty guidance system fueled by decent convictions than a corporate/fascist/deep state CABAL. I think our adversaries absolutely do not want DJT in office and their actions will be different if he's in office.
3. Despite his narcissism, I believe he has empathy and genuine regard, respect, even love for some of the same elements of the country for which I do.
4. I'd massively rather have Republicans fill cabinet spots, the administration and SCOTUS spots, manage foreign policy, trade, treaties, and all of the trimmings of the bloated, ridiculous federal executive branch.
5. If Trump wins, I think there will be a good chance a decent or more regular human being will be elected in 2028 and if KH wins, it is proof we're Rome.
