It was certainly a risk to do that with Blasey-Ford. The idea was that women would identify with her, hate Kavanaugh, and vote against Trump.

I guess that they did - and Kavanaugh was part of Dobbs, which while it was about abortion it was more about states rights.

The risk was that there were certainly a subset of women who identified more with Kavanaugh's wife than with Blasey Ford.
