Beginning in June, US began to reject initial asylum claims. While I personally oppose that move, apparently it led to reduced numbers at the border. Immigration has been an issue that has befuddled US admins for decades. But yes, there has been a recent significant drop-off in numbers at the border. ALSO, GOP kinda boxed the Dems into a corner with the issue and they got pretty hard-right policy switch on paper until Trump squelched it. Note that the Right will not see such an opportunity to put harsh policies in place again. But what the heck it was done to served the Donald - and how is that working out for ya?
