They don't give half a rat's ass about housing. They just want to be in the position to hand out freebies because their perception is that gives them power.

The economic reality of what they are doing is housing prices will go up, substantially, as you mentioned. The only winners will be the property owners (and think about the large Chinese corporations that have bought up so much real estate).

And it won't do a damn thing to increase home ownership.
