Although, truth be told, I am not sure what a conservative is anymore.

I think it is hated more because of Trump and some of his followers than the actual policies. Although they will take some policies (especially the Christian Right) and try to hook it onto Trump and MAGA as much as possible. But it is somewhat clear now, Trump used them to get votes as much as anything.
