pointing out the obvious incompetence & unlikability of Kamala. They were talking about her being a liability on the ticket and were wondering if there was a way Biden might dump her from the ticket.

Instead, they could no longer gaslight Biden as being mentally competent and do a 180, reconstructing her as the new savior of America and protector of Democracy.

It is absurd in the extreme... and you are right in the thick of things defending the absurd.
