Medicaid / Medicare cost 3,000,000,000,000/year and SS is 1,400,000,000,000 so they contribute less than .5% to those programs funded by payroll taxes. That is NOT taking pressure off the system, in fact it places MORE pressure on the system.
6 million workers is likely over 20 million family members half of which are likely on Medicaid. So, 10,000,000 people x $1000/person = $10,000,000,000 in Medicaid costs alone for them and their families.
