I went once during the recession to DC and they were building like crazy.

Two big parts to DC. The government and the lobbyists. These lobbyist companies are huge and big time funding. That is where these guys live.

Just look whenever there is a political event. Mass shooters etc and how fast these organizations find the details of criminals and victims to create their stories. And they use memes to get that out quick.
