If they can drive up the debt enough, they can then come back and with a sorrowful "woe is me" say that cuts to Medicare and Social Security are now necessary. And that is pretty much the goal all along. This is similar to what you see with the USPS and the Right's efforts to break it so that privatization of postal services can be put in place. Wall St has been chomping at the bit to get ahold of SS money for a long time. Same is true for postal delivery services. You see the same move with Investment bankers taking over charter schools and turning our education system into a for profit franchises where concern of quarterly earnings is primary to children's education.

Please explain why this message is being reported.
