oK FIRST OF ALL.
The discussion was not about Tom Brady playing football.
It was about Tom Brady being a broadcaster for Fox.
And it was 375 million for 10 years.
I don't think I need to explain why that is so ridiculous
to any reasonable person but I will anyway.
-He has zero experience
-I would wager heavily that other than maybe his very first appearance as a broadcaster he will not increase
their viewership in any appreciable way (other than by general population increase)
-he probably would have done it at a fraction of what they are paying him
-they could easily (and I do mean easily ) find someone BETTER for a fraction of the cost
Now how is that inflationary?
Well as evil as Fox can be, they do things for only one purpose and that is to make money. Paying an athlete
with no experience whatsoever to do a job 37.5 million dollars a year at several multiples (not bothering to look up whoever he is replacings cost but I wouldn't be surprised to hear its 5-10 times) will of course not be paid by Fox because they will pass that price onto their
advertisers who of course won't eat that cost but pass it on to consumers .
And if you are not an anarchist nerd then you know that rising costs of goods and services IS inflation and viola there you are.
On a sidenote, yes an increase in the money supply can cause inflation. Yes greedy corporate companies can cause inflation. Yes weather and supply conditions can cause inflation. Yes scarcity of goods can cause inflation.
All safely taught in classes such as Econ 101.
there will not be a quiz this is all basic stuff.
Class dismissed
