"What plan will help me?" is the problem.

I don't pretend to think I have any influence on the political direction of our country. At my age, I've learned both parties are corrupt, bought off, and truly have no motive other than to win.

So, I'll swallow this medicine on a message board where we're all letting off steam and trying to "win" an argument. I've been a bit of an ass in this thread and have taken my judgmental banter too far. I'm human. I don't know the first thing about you and need to ask myself: Did I contribute more violence or more connection and understanding? Tonight, the former.

But, I think our country is absolutely screwed...not because of a presidential plan or a party but because of the rotten core which is supremely self-centered, egotistical, arrogant, judgmental, and unwilling to allow another person to choose their own path in life. Rarely do you ever hear a politician admit they're wrong or human. In other words, our culture has far far too little of...

love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, and self control.

If there was a candidate who tried to live those out, who admitted they were fallible, who offered humility and empathy for people whose lives are difficult?

Landslide.

We have a massive empathy problem in our country and that will be our downfall.

So moral code isn't #1 on my list of priorities because it doesn't exist in a candidate. Our system won't allow it.
