cover up conspiracy to promote his FEDERAL election by unlawful means.

What were those unlawful means?

Tax evasion? Federal crime, outside the jurisdiction.
Federal election campaign laws? Federal crime, outside the jurisdiction

This is a case of obfuscation. Nail Trump on business records but escalate to a felony by saying they were falsified to promote his election. But that requires proving the promotion was done unlawfully. Yet there is no law under NY jurisdiction. They can’t prosecute for federal crimes.

Obfuscate away for stupid jurors and deny them easy access to the instructions.
