Even in the 1967 War, Egypt initiated hostilities by massing troops on the Israeli border in Saini and expelled UN observers from Saini and Gaza.

Despite being warned by Israel that closure of the Straits of Tiran would be an act of war, Egyt closed it to Israeli ships.

On May 30, 1967, Jordan also began massing on Israel's border.

On June 5, Israel launched a pre-emptive attack on the massed troops of Jordan and Egypt. That war lasted 6 days and resulted in Israel winning control of Golan Heights, West Bank, Gaza and Saini Peninsula
