PSA: The portal closes for everyone in CBB tonight at 11:59 ET. Keep in mind, this is the deadline for portal ENTRY; players can take however long into May/June/July to pick where they want to play. But: you'll still see instances of players popping up in the portal after today.

Players only have to communicate by 11:59 ET tonight to any single person in their athletic department (doesn't even need to be compliance) their desire to transfer. If there is a digital timestamp—even a quick text qualifies—that beats the deadline, they'll be in eventually.


From there, schools sometimes take days to process the request and officially get a name into the portal. So we'll wait and see if/how many notable players make a last-minute decision. So, if you see a notable name or two pop later this week, that's why/how it happened.
