when we put in a new microwave/stove hood. With the new one it drew close to 15 amps and was on the same circuit as a light/ceiling fan. So when the kids were burning popcorn in the microwave and turned on the ceiling fan, it would pop the breaker.
I ran a new dedicated 20 amp circuit just for the microwave.
But now I need to look at the fridge. I know it's a 15 amp circuit but now I"m curious what else is on that circuit.
Installed outlets in the kitchen cabinets to plug in the transformer for LED undercabinet lighting at my daughter's house recently. Did one and I know I extended it off a 15 amp circuit with a 15 amp outlet.
Did another about 3 weeks later and I'll be damned if it wasn't a 20 amp outlet on a 20 amp circuit. All I had was 14/2 and a 15 amp duplex outlet. I had 12/2 at home but didn't bring it. So it went in with what I had for now. last leg on the circuit and the wall wort draws less than 1/2 amp.
