Black players in MLB is on a decline, and they're calling just 6% of players black.
Show us the other demographics as well.
What groups are on the increase? What groups are staying stagnant?
Are we lumping everyone into buckets that make the metrics more convenient? Like, would their racial buckets be white, black, hispanic, asian? Or do they break it down further than that into what regions a person's nationality comes from? How many of any of these groups are American, vs non-American?
I don't see why any of this is remotely relevant. Is MLB's goal to have its racial demographics of players match the demographics of the USA? Because if it is...honestly then 6% black would be about right. I think the black population in America is around 13%, which means probably 6.5% is male. Since only men play in MLB, 6% black is what you'd expect just taking a random sampling.
