The majority of the college athletes in revenue sports like football and basketball do not belong in college either academically or in terms of seeking an education.

In football, 18-22 year old bodies are not yet mature enough for the physicality of the game. So, until the NFL sets up a minor league, the only choice for those kids is college football.

In basketball, let them go play for pay in the minor leagues found all over the world. They have paid alternatives.
