Coach Anderson explained the purpose of the NY trip

On a podcast earlier this year, she spoke at great length about how previous teams had really appreciate the chance to see some historical sites so she thought it was a great chance to take them to see some of our nation's top historical sites in Washington, DC, Philadelphia, and NYC. She rattled off the whole list of all the famous sites they were taking the players to. The focus is more on an educational trip than just playing ball, although of course they are doing that, too.

I think it's very smart of her to do that for the players. They have enough trips that are just about playing games.
