JUCO basketball is not what it used to be

Nowadays, kids who can't qualify at a four-year school have so many more options than they used to. It used to be if you couldn't qualify, you went JUCO and that was all that was available.

Now there's link year prep schools, there's G League Ignite and Overtime Elite and a million second-tier pro leagues where you can go make a little of money.

Good players just don't go to JUCOs as much anymore because they don't have to.
