If so, we're in a very difficult situation...

We could divert more "NIL" to Gates' roster, to load it up with NBA talent... but that would likely yield low ROI (due to poor coaching) and just enough wins to auto-extend the contract and maintain his prohibitively expensive buyout.

Or... we could just let this dumpster fire burn for another 2 or 3 years until the buyout is affordable.

Or... we could bite the bullet and fire him after this season, lighting $20M+ on fire.

There are no good options.
