and its been a good, reliable vehicle.
That being said, Hyundai and Kias response to the recent theft/vulnerability issue has been handled really poorly.
They both have multiple models of vehicles over a 10-year span that are vulnerable to theft, and they've done zero wide-spread recalls or made any effort to get information out to the media as far as remediation.
The effect of this is that dumb criminals are targeting ANYTHING with a hyundai or kia logo, and causing tons of property damage, trying to steal all of the vehicles, not just the ones that are legitimately compromised.
Hyundai/Kia insurance rates have skyrocketed because of this, and some companies flat-out won't insure them at the moment. Their re-sale value has plummeted as well.
Hyundai and Kia have a massive problem on their hands and did virtually nothing to address it on any sort of large scale.
I probably won't buy another Hyundai/Kia just due to their poor handling of their whole ordeal. They basically stuck their heads in the sand and ignored it, but its not going away.
