Next year is huge. If Gates can keep all of this year’s freshman and all the incoming ones, and if they show flashes of potential, another 10-15 win season will be tolerable if not enjoyable. If he loses half of these young players and has to scramble to fill a roster again he had better strike gold in the portal and win at least 20 games or his seat will start getting pretty warm.
I myself am pretty old school and would prefer a program built with HS recruiting instead of having a new team every year.
