Trump's attorneys argued that Trump has absolute immunity for official acts as the President and no-one would ever claim that assassinating his political opponent is an official act.

Obama's attorneys would argue that Obama held absolute immunity for the targeted killing of a US citizen without a trial (Anwar al Awlaki in 2011).
