back there at all. Change happens slow it football but over the next few years I think we'll start to see some of it.
I've seen so many muffed punts this bowl season (and even in the NFL) that the risk/reward of catching a punt is questionable, at best.
Yes, you may lose some yards on field position but you also might gain some as well, as the ball sometimes bounces back towards the LOS. Not to mention the risk of it hitting another player on the leg or some bull**** like that.
Keep your defense on the field to protect against fakes and just let the punt go where it may. You don't even have to have a punt return/punt block unit. You save time on install and practice reps.
