You apparently have zero evidence that he is "on the dole" of Russia.
"pro Russia" & "pro Putin" are subjective judgments. He certainly seems to have more respect for Putin than he does of Zelenski, but that would only make him "pro Putin" in a relative sense. The evidence would seem to paint a rather poor picture of Zelenski, so that may be a relatively low bar. MacGregor has had some less than laudatory things to say about Putin as well, fwiw.
Given his opinions, it is hardly surprising that Russia Today would want to interview him. They have some common ground in their evaluation of the facts as known to them. I don't think that being interviewed by them is necessarily a bad thing. Certainly nowhere near as bad as surreptitiously intervening to overthrow the legitimate government of another country as the US did via the CIA in Ukraine.
