their system to one degree or another, many former French colonies have a combo, but have Islam as the official religion and use Sharia Law to some extent thru their judicial system. But most have it as the basis of their systems - so "some" would not have been accurate - so, again, I DID NOT use any type of "broad brush" in my statement
