The form and substance of a government does not make a country. And while I share your fondness for the representative republic the founders' created when the USA was nominally created, it misses the forest for the trees.
The people make a country. Almost all countries I can think of were established by common groups of people, with a culture that is shaped by common ancestry, common race, at least some basic shared beliefs and principles, in many instances a common religion.
Look at Europe. There were Irish people in Ireland long before any recognizable Irish government. There were local Kings and clans. Same with Germany, and on and on.
The US was originally founded by English settlers with fairly common beliefs, culture, religion, etc. long before the US government was founded.
When you import the third world en masse parts of your country become the third world and before you know it, what you had was gone forever.
The actual founders, of course, knew this. People are tribal. Always have been, always will be.
