with the governor who was the mastermind in directing the cheating for decades in an effort to combat the state’s horrible reputation. OU Presidents & coaches had to buy-in to his plan so they were all on the same page.
With the beauty of hindsight, who wouldn’t go back in time & follow the same plan? It’s a no-brainer & the schools who played by the rules have been continually penalized (& the ratings bias is just one aspect). When one team has to do more than another, the lack of equitable treatment is a massive disadvantage. Playoffs, bowl games, rankings & financial bottom line…all combine to alter the balance of power & fair play.
