You can't just discount the fact that Kentucky jumped out to a 21-0 lead. That affects everything. Both teams adjusted significantly their gameplans.
Kentucky didn't need to be aggressive, risky, etc. They probably played conservative, they probably didn't push anyone who was even mildly injured, etc.
Vandy had to go all-in just to make it a game. Took risks they wouldn't normally take (against a team letting them have minor success to prevent major success). And by your logic, it was 45-21 with 0:24 left in the game so after the 1st quarter UK had outscored Vandy 24-21 in the 2nd, 3rd, and 14+ minutes of the 4th. Then Vandy scored with 0:23 left in the game to make it 45-28, and UK ran the clock out in one play.
That's just not a rational take on the game, my man.
