and obsession with Rams was alive and well. Mizzou was and is always an afterthought. Most St. Louis fans don't even understand college football, especially as it was with bowl games in those days. It's NFL NFL NFL even with a lot of the talking heads because you have 32 teams as opposed to a 100.
