the situation, go to those schools and match the names.
The job of permanent government on the scene is to resolve what happened.
If things are as simple as you explain, the resolution is simple.
This won't happen of course because those children are either cremated or trafficked.
Permanent government on the scene doesn't want to admit that and CANNOT resolve the question with YOUR ANSWER because YOUR ANSWER is a fairy tale.
But it's okay, no reason to be interested in what happened to 2,000 kids...
