Would suggest there are relatively few programs that had a realistic chance to play for the national championship. Essentially, it will come down to the top teams in the B1G and SEC.

Moving to the B1G opens the door for USC and the other PAC refugees to be in the national championship game. They would always have that opportunity as PAC Champions, but as B1G Champs they have a direct path to the game.

California remains one of the top three talent sources in the nation. USC (and UCLA) obviously live on California talent. Both Washington and Oregon also live on California talent (much like Mizzou lived on Texas talent during the Gary Pinkel era).
