it's who your neighbors are. When you actually work with and have little league games with alumni/fans of B12 schools, your perspective is different. Nobody in KC looks at Mizzou and sees "SEC". Not if they're over 30. They see an old friend/foe. None of the Mizzou fans I know are anything like Zounami, for example. They hate KU, they wish they still had games against Nebraska and CU, etc.
