been told to shut down all of the coal plants in Illinois and are in the process of closing them in Missouri at great expense. They are also being pressured to reduce/phase out natural gas.
Nuclear is not an option at this point.
The big push is to solar and wind.
This is going on around the nation and is from pressure from the federal government.
He said Ameren execs have to dance to the tune of the regulators, even if it goes against their better judgment. They've told the gov't officials that they risk having brownouts or blackouts due to the very cyclical and unpredictable output from the gov't mandated "renewable resources". To keep the energy supply sufficient to meet current demands, much less the huge jump when gov't mandates push everyone into electric vehicles, they will need massive amounts of storage capacity in addition to huge fields of windmills and solar farms. Then they could store the energy generated when solar and wind generate electricity in excess of demand. All of that energy must be used as it is generated, or as it is stored. Without massive batteries or other storage capacity the energy must be sold elsewhere or wasted, typically by generating heat.
Regulators are also adamant about not having prices for the electricity to jump. That rules out the building or purchasing of the massive amounts of storage capacity that is needed for a reliable energy supply.
The World Economic Forum brings world leaders in government, industry, education, media and technology together at least once a year to promote their agenda. We see this play out in coordinated efforts in nations from around the world for things like climate change, health care (eg vaccines & population control), and world government. They are most certainly pushing hard for massive reduction in the consumption of meat and the raising of animals.
