1. Will we be as effective a transition team without Hodge creating so many in bound turnovers, and without Kobe being so excellent at outlet passes off defensive rebounds. We will quickly learn if that is a philosophy thing or simply the result of having two players who were elite at those aspects who are no longer here.
2. Is defensive rebounding going to be a systemic issue (particularly without Diarra/Kobe anymore), and how problematic is that if point #1 above falls off. We were able to offset the lack of defensive rebounding by simply taking the ball away before the opponent had the opportunity to shoot, resulting in a reasonable disparity in shots attempts overall. If we aren't getting turnovers being killed on the defensive glass is going to cause opponents to get way more shots than us.
3. Is there someone who will emerge that can simply get buckets in the halfcourt. When teams shut down our transition our half court offense often stalled and resulted in 3pt attempts, and we were absolved from that due to Gholston and Kobe's ability to hit tough shots. Again neither of those guys is around anymore, and neither will be drawing double teams and forcing rotations from the opponent. If we turn into a really stagnant pass it around the perimeter and shoot 3pters when teams force us into a half court game with this new roster that isn't terribly different than what we had under Cuonzo.
