Michigan's lakeshore (in Michigan). Pretty nice area if you like 75 degree days, with a cool breeze off the lake and no humidity.
Water was way too cold to get in, they didn't allow alcohol on the lakeshore beach.
Indiana Sand Dunes National Park was pretty cool.
Followed the shoreline around the lake through Chicago and up to downtown Milwaukee. Neat Public Market there and riverwalk.
Loaded up on cheese curds and sausage at the Mar's Cheese Castle
Streets of Milwaukee felt cleaner and safer than STL by a long shot. Nice street car like what KC has.
Without SummerFest, downtown felt like a ghost town. The only thing it was missing was a lakefront ballpark downtown.
