on the one hand, the batter is entitled to their position in the batter's box. On the other, any hindrance of the catcher's ability to throw to the base or make a tag at the plate can be deemed interference. I can only surmise that since she'd begun to step back out of the box, the umpire deemed that she stepped into the path of the first throw (intentional or not) and called interference. There was no reason for the 2nd throw. None. That should have resulted in the catcher being ejected.
