right, the 'research' models aren't released to the public

but what is already released is causing some alarm. I suppose I disagree with your choice of the words 'deliberately dumbed down', but that's really immaterial to the discussion.

I'm glad you posted your OP, because I believe it is important that more people should try to understand it, or at least try to understand the implications of some of this technology. It is developing too fast to have confidence in the safety of it, imo.

I'm not an alarmist, but there are a lot out there that are really really smart that are freaking out about it and I think it deserves more attention. Unfortunately, it's not a sexy, click-getting topic that is easily understood with snippets of info here and there.
