essentially her spiel was, "the image of our brand (and essentially the image of our consumers) is x, and we want it to be less like x".

Rather than either encourage more buying by your brand's existing customers, or, creating messaging that expands the customer base, she creates a message that ALIENATES a good percentage of their existing customers.

And as I think about this more, I realize: POLITICAL CORRECTNESS ONLY GOES ONE WAY - TO BE POLITICALLY CORRECT TOWARDS THE LEFT.

NOBODY - self censors their thoughts/behaviors/speech to consider: "will this offend anyone to the right of the middle?"
