He did his duty in the military and received the GI bill etc. So did I, but why do people want to thank us for it. We enlisted or got drafted and entered a war that was very destructive for the country and other countries as well. Our government sold it to the public as a battle to protect their freedom. His freedom from what? It is a phrase that is just popular to say and has no value to me.
