Establishing Mexican Cartels in US

The following was told to me by a landscape maintenance contractor here in the Valley.
1. He employs a lot of illegals because they are the only folks who will do the work.
2. Many of the illegals did not have the money to finance a trip from their home, wherever it may be, to the U.S. border and beyond.
3. Many got the money they needed from the Mexican drug cartels.
4. The "deal" was the illegal would get a job in the U.S. that paid him in cash after he entered the U.S., preferablly weekly.
5. As soon as the illegal is paid, he reports to the local cartel representataive here in the U.S. and repays some portion of the money the cartel has advanced to him for the trip to the border. The repayment is in cash.
This scheme essentially allows the Mexican drug cartels to establish a presence in the U.S. and exert influence over many of the immigrants who have crossed the border.
