back.
I was covering dispatch while the dispatcher was at dinner break and took the call and broadcast his description. Officer spotted him on the Quad and made the arrest. We got him to the station, Mirandaized him (with a signed release) and had him dump out his pockets. In addition to cash, there were all kinds of receipts and minutiae guys carry in their wallets. One was to a victim for a carpet remnant from a furniture store. "All this yours?" Yep.
His main defense was to have his statements and the property we recovered thrown out of evidence. We went to a Moition to Suppress hearing, which he lost. Right after that, his defense attorney entered a guilty plea.
I've run his name a few times in Missouri CaseNet. He must be dead because he never comes up.
There are a few frequent fliers from Mizzou who I still run. One is always listed for minor felonies, but his kids were covered in a KC Star article a few years back as they were running most of the drug trafficking into COMO and were bad dudes/dudettes.
Charles Anthony Coats (Coates). Little **** and Roderick Nunely once broke into the training room at Hearnes and stole bball jerseys. Had more than they could carry and were wearing them like long dresses. Stipo, Dressler, Sundvold, etc. Hard to run when you're tripping over the hem of your dress.
Fvckers used to rob campus blind. Don't leave your 10-speed Motobecane unlocked at a bike rack.
