I'm still not sure how releasing taxes addresses that. Maybe I'm missing something obvious.

Seems more like an authoritarian move and an "end justifies the means" act to cast a political opponent in as bad a light as possible.

I've not heard a single word about the IRS being "better" in this whole episode.

And no, I'm not some fan of Donald Trump so all should save the "defending Trump" lines.

I'm also not a fan of an omnipotent government that can use the power of the "law" to go after people without charges or manipulate anything with the force and cover of government, no matter how much it gives satisfaction to the foot soldiers cheering their kings and queens.
