in their minds and those of their families. Mizzou is an opportunity for them to play within reach of their family and friends. That's it. Onion Horton and all of his acolytes did what they could to shut off the St. Louis kids from Mizzou and that attitude still persists. All this from perceived ills in the 60s.
This really isn't a St. Louis vs KC thing. Yes, KC dominates Mizzou in influencing the University. They send their kids to the school where St. Louis sends them everywhere. Mizzou fans want to win with the players who want to play at Mizzou.
I've lived in St. Louis all my life, played HS here, have an opinion on it.
In regards to Samuel M'Pemba, played at Ladue 2 or 3 years finished at IMG. Ladue is the richest public school in St. Louis so his parents are immigrants or they're doctors most likely. So between IMG and his parents and friends I'm not sure Mizzou is strong on the list unless Drinkwitz can make a strong argument to him. If I'm wrong on him, please fill in the details.
