I talk to a bunch of alumni that graduating in the late 80's and early 90's. Very few (like 1 in 30) ever mention or care about kansas at all.
It it is kansas, that will add maybe about 0.05% interest in the game more than it would be against any generic opponent. The rivalry is dead and buried. It's just a small handful of people that can't let it go. In another 10 years, almost no one will even remember it was once a thing.
